After more than two years, the Star Wars Battlefront II creative director Dennis Brännvall has announced the game's "incredible" journey across 25 free content updates will finally come to an end with The Battle on Scarif.

Here's a bit more about what to expect from this latest update:

Today, we’re bringing you the details on what’s coming to Star Wars Battlefront II in the next content update named The Battle on Scarif, where we return to the tropical battlefront inspired by Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. This addition accentuates the incredible breadth of Star Wars Battlefront II, which by the time of Scarif’s release will include content inspired by all Star Wars theatrical releases.

To celebrate this milestone, there'll be a sale from 1st May - 4th May across all platforms, allowing you to save up to 60% on the game.

As noted in the video above, the team has now realised its vision. Even though it's done with major game updates, the servers, in-game challenges, and recurring events will remain live. As a way of saying thank you to its player base, there'll be some gifts – like new character appearances. For full details about these bonuses and more, check out the official blog post.

The creative director signed off by saying how it's been an "honor" to develop a game set within the Star Wars universe and was proud of what the team and the community had accomplished.

Developing characters, worlds, and experiences set in this amazing galaxy that is Star Wars is an honor, and it has continued to be a remarkable, challenging, and ultimately rewarding journey for the entire team. Knowing that we have a passionate community of millions of players and Star Wars fans – just like ourselves – along on the ride, is the greatest inspiration we could ever have.

I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished, and continue to accomplish, together.
