Update: (Mon 30th Mar, 2020 17:40 BST): The Xbox Game Pass date for NeiR: Automata has been officially announced! It's coming to the service on Thursday, April 2nd.
Original Story: (Sun 29th Mar, 2020 13:00 BST): It's been ten years since the release of the original NIER for Xbox 360, and to celebrate, Square Enix has announced it's developing a seemingly remastered (but Square Enix doesn't want to refer to it that way) version of the game for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. But this one is based on the PS3 version of NieR Replicant - the Japanese version of the game - which is slightly different to the version we saw on Xbox 360, and features a different main character.
NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139..., as the remaster is now officially known, has yet to receive a release date, but will feature re-recorded voice acting and music, a new character and possibly even a new ending (according to our friends over at Push Square).
There's also good news for NieR: Automata fans today as it was announced the 2017 Xbox One game is coming to Xbox Game Pass in the very near future. We've heard a few rumoured dates so far including April 2nd and April 3rd, so we'll update this post as soon as get official confirmation.
Are you excited for a remastered version of NieR Replicant? Let us know if you've played the PS3 version below.

Nice! I will pick up Nier Replicant for sure!
I wish they would release it on switch too, but I just renewed game pass, so this it good timing.
Yes, I remember that Japan had two different versions of Nier; Nier Gestalt for Xbox 360 and Nier Replicant for PS3.
However, outside of Japan, both Xbox 360 and PS3 versions were based on Nier Gestalt, so this will be the first time Replicant is released in the west.
The Square-Enix love for Xbox lately has been nice.
Nier Replicant isn't just a ps3 exclusive. It was a Japanese exclusive as far as I know.
But yeah, this is such good news!! It would be nice if Nier Gestalt was backwards compatible, but I love how Square Enix has shown so much love towards their xbox fans.
Please play Nier Automata!
I've heard nothing but good things of Automata, excited to give it a go next month. If it's as good as they say Replicant should be exciting to try as well!
