Xbox Developer Direct 2025: Event Date, Start Times & Where To Watch The Showcase

I'm not sure I'll be able to watch it live, since it'll be my mom's birthday. Really depends on the time which I still haven't managed to decipher without googling, even after a few years of reading this articles. 😂

Reckon its gunna be even better than the last direct 😎 all games I'm interested in although probs have to check news bits n just watch gameplay vids after as I'm waiting for ender magnolia and that's gunna be only thing I'm doing once get home from work Thursday 🤣

I wonder which games will be announced to be going to PS5 and Switch 2? I bet at least one game will be announced to be going fully multi platform.

I'm hanging on to whatever that unannounced game is because the others, while surely quality games, don't excite me on the level of, say, Fable. That's what I wanted to see. But I will certainly tune in!

Well I have an appointment at noon. Probably no point watching live anyway. I mostly just wanna know what the mystery Japanese game is! Won’t know if Clair obscure or south of midnight turn out til they’re done anyway, but Im hoping they both do.

@Lup it’s 6pm GMT, so for you, it’ll either be 10am, 11am, noon, or 1pm! I think. I’m in North America on central time, so noon for me.

@LostInBlue0 you’re not interested in Clair obscure? I’m cautiously optimistic! Gives me some real Lost Odyssey vibes.

Excited to see what is shown off. I'm not counting my chickens but I'll be over the moon if we see any mention of FF from Square. That said, I sure hope Fable is still on track for 2025. I'd have assumed that if it was (unless I've missed something) then it would have been slotted in to this direct. Unless of course they want to reveal that 2025 release date at the summer showcase to maintain momentum - which I'd guess will be a Christmas drop.

Think we will definitely get
Doom release date, already leaked.
And south of Midnight release date.

Surprise game as we know, have not a clue.
Maybe a shadow drop who knows.
Will be watching live as always.

Gotta say I do think promoting a mystery addition was a good call.

The "problem" with the Xbox Dev directs was that unless your interested in those specific games then there was no reason to watch or get exicted about it (or talk about it online generating interest).

It's nice to have some excitement outside the not-E3 season and game awards.

@Kaloudz I wouldn't be suprised if that was being kept for the summer showcase and then have a deep dive as part of the livestream afterwards.

@abe_hikura Yeah that's making the most sense in my head at the moment. I suppose it'd be silly to throw all cards on the table three weeks into the year. I do so hope we see SoD3 this year with a 2026 release date.

@Kaloudz I can not wait to play SoD3. I need to revisit 2 as everytime I finished it they did some massive update that overhauled it.

@abe_hikura I did the very same thing just last week. It's amazing. I'm so ready for the sequel though. I need a new setting and I'm super curious to see what they've done. I love 2, but my only gripe is the plague hearts. I personally think they just needed one or two things extra in the world to allow escape, but that's just a minor nag.

@Kaloudz yeah I think they've really nailed down the core of it, it's time to expand and build on that.

The plague hearts are... Off, they feel like a solution to a problem that we don't see on our metaphorical side of the screen.

Honestly what a crock of s**t. Lets face facts…… 4 years into this console lifecycle and were STILL waiting for a decent cadence of releases from these spin masters. Games are coming…….. next year……. Next year…….. next year……… its all you hear! They release more coloured controllers than games. Such a failure of leadership. And we continue to wait for the games. Yawn

@abe_hikura Exactly. Couldn't agree more. I think they'll do wonders in the sequel, given all that they've learnt from SoD2 and all the updates they've done, they've got great community insight going for them as well. I'll be gutted if we don't hear about it at the summer showcase.

I was a little disappointed the mystery game was ninja gaiden. Nothing against it (I liked the 2d ones, not the 3D), but there were too many people with unreasonable theories that it was gonna be final fantasy, or smt, or persona, or dragon quest, or any number of things (or at least an RPG). The rumor mill is out of control these days!
