Hooray! Art of Rally is finally available on Xbox Game Pass. The only catch? It's not working properly.
As you're probably well aware, the game is suffering from an issue at launch on Xbox where the "press any button to start" screen forces you to continually sign-in on a loop, which means the game actually won't start.
Fortunately, there are a couple of potential ways around this, so here's what you need to do:
How To Fix Sign-In Issues With Art Of Rally On Xbox Game Pass
Before you do anything, we suggest closing the game manually by pressing the Xbox Guide button on your controller, hovering over the Art of Rally tile and then pressing the Menu button followed by 'Quit'.
Then, you'll need to abide by the following instructions to restart your console:
- Go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Power mode & start-up'
- Choose 'Restart now'
Alternatively, if that doesn't work, you can perform a full reset with the following instructions:
- Go to 'Settings'
- Select 'Power mode & start-up'
- Choose 'Full shut-down'
- Turn your console on manually again
Once you've completed these steps, you should find that Art of Rally signs in as expected and you can play the game. Unfortunately, not everyone is having 100% success with this method, but it's the only workaround we have for now.
There is another issue players are experiencing with Art of Rally on Xbox as well, where if your console isn't set to the English language, everything seems to be displaying in Japanese (and there's no separate language option).
At the time of writing, there's been no word on a permanent fix for either of these issues as of yet, but we're assuming a patch will be rolled out in the near future. Nevertheless, it's a frustrating start for Art of Rally's devs and players on Xbox.

What a shame. the developers must be so frustrated to release and fall a the first hurdle. I've heard good things, but I think I'll hold off on playing for a week or so to see if the bugs are ironed out.
Was looking forward to this but wow. Thats quite some fundamental issues to sort out.
I've restarted my DOS and NES when games don't boot properly. Amazing.
Wonder if it's regional? I have no issues in the UK. I also don't have fast boot enabled.
@ResoluteCustoms I've had issues in the UK, so it's not regional, but it definitely could be a fast boot problem.
@SplooshDmg I'm not in IT but the warehouse employees come up to me first to fix stuff. Most of the time it's just rebooting. Or digging through folders.
I hope they get this fixed so we can slow the role of humanities first reaction of looking on the internet for help. And complaining endlessly when things don't work day 1 hour 0. We've all been burned by this.
@FraserG would definitely explain why a reboot works.
Seems like a minor inconvenience with an easy fix. Not too bad.
Rebooting or re-installing didn't work in the Benelux. Changing the Xbox language to English did the trick.
I don't think there is a bug. The title page is just confusing. You sign-in then it drops you to screen with some settings and the only on-screen prompt is to press Y again (to select a user profile). However, if you just press A the game starts and takes you to the game menu screen.
What a mess of a port.
I’ve faced both issues…
It wouldn’t log in, until I hard resetted the console.
And then, since I have Greek language on my series x, everything is in Japanese in game…
What an auful port.
Hopefully I haven’t paid a single penny, since it s in game pass.
Still though…
@SuperWeeble if you’re in the loop pressing A also prompts you to sign in.
Have to restart console every time I play so I’ll wait a bit. What I did played well and seemed fun though.
I've jumped on this game a day after these problems, and wow, I'm enjoying it.
