Hello everyone. I am going to copy and paste a post I put on reddit. Thank you to anyone who reads and replies and if you can help great! I really appreciate it thanks. I know it has been done I am just having lots of issues.

Hey all, I have been trouble shooting my xbox for a long time now and am having trouble doing this. Here are a list of things I have done to try and solve it. Thanks for any suggestions on how to help!

My setup

-Original xbox one

-OS VERSION: 22621.2486.amd64fre.xb_flt_2210ni.221014-1030

-Original error e106 - HDD failure

What I have done to try and solve this issue

  • I purchased a new ssd 1tb and followed this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-VyTR7UeeU to try and complete it
  • I have a "Sandisk Cruiser Glide" (16 GB) with OSU 2 on it
  • I have a "SamData" USB drive (16 GB) with OSU 1 on it... that im just now realizing says USB 2.0 (possible issue?)
  • I also purchased a new sata cable from "gamers repair" thinking this could also be an issue that caused the first failure and maybe the reason why the ssd was not working (I was willing to try it because Ive tried so much lol)
  • While following this video I set up the drive like it said and plugged it back into my xbox and tried it with the OSU 1 drive (see above) However the offline update was still grayed out so I either did it wrong? or I was thinking since my xbox is old I needed to do the OSU 2. I then put that on the drive seen above. This one is not grayed out, however when I try and do the offline update I get the ding that starts the updated and then it instantly dings again and gives me a screen with a e101 error (00000505 8B050041) and this continues to happen over and over again when I try.
  • After reading several posts it seems that i may have dowloaded either OSU 1 wrong, I setup my SSD wrong, or I have the wrong update timeline and need to use one that matches my OS seen above. OR my xbox is really messed up. Thank you for your help to all that reads this and to those with the same problem I hope this fleshes out a similar issue with you. Thanks!
