Topic: Use Xbox 360 internal optical drive on PC?

It woud be cool to repurpose an Xbox 360 to play DVD PC games. I know it's possible to connect one to a PC for flashing, but can it function as a DVD drive? Will all the features work (ejecting discs, inserting discs, audio, etc)?

I was just thinking about that. I want a dvd player for my pc and why not use the one from an xbox 360? i really hope it’s something that can work it would be really cool

trigon, I came to the conclusion that it's probably possible but I stopped caring enough to figure it out.
On the disc drive, there are two plugs; the smaller portion of a SATA port (for data) and a chunkier port for—if memory serves me well—power, ground, sending the eject signal, and other stuff.
What I thought of doing was getting a SATA data to USB-A cable and plugging that into my laptop's dock that's hooked up to the tele, and hope that the Xbox would eject and read the disc but send the disc's data to and from the laptop instead. Probably won't work in hindsight but might be worth a shot.
I wanted to do this so I could have something nice or at least normal looking in my TV cabinet instead of a disc drive in some ugly enclosure.
