Topic: Series X... as a new console?

Problem:
RAM prices. New "Xbox" being potentially delayed.

Potential solution:
Could the Series X run the new software?
I say "new" but guessing it's gonna be the same/similar as on the RoG Ally X?
If it CAN run on the Series X, could we have the option to install it... either to replace the current Xbox OS, or maybe as a dual-boot option?
Not everyone would want to, but might be a nice interim option for those that do.

So my question...
Is there any TECHNICAL reason why this would not be possible (leaving aside commercial/business reasons)?
