I have an xbox series x and a sceptre 32 curved 185hz with and display port.

My question is. Do I buy an adapter for the display port and try to get the 185hz? Will the xbox series x push that much? Is it worth it?

I am having to force my series x to find 1080p 120hz to be able to get the 120 fps. Sceptre is no help what so ever. I emailed them for help and they sent me to youtube to figure out how to get 120fps. I have been on my own and I figured the best help would be to come to the community that knows more about xbox than well I would bet xbox. The picture is beautiful and I can really tell a difference from the day 1 xbox one that I just came from. I just want to be able to get everything that both my monitor and xbox series x can put out!

The Xbox series X will only output what's supported by the game or itself. So that monitor is just HD. You can get the appropriate cables or adapters to play in 1080p, but you can't force the Xbox to do 185hz if it doesn't support it. It's not entirely like a PC. The most you are going to get is either 60 or 120. Whatever is supported that's higher and that's as high as you can force it.

Hi, from what I've read the series X doesn't support display port. The display settings in the Xbox settings should show you what resolution and refresh rates you can set. If it keeps losing the setting try setting the Display override to HDMI in the Video fidelity and overscan menu under settings -> TV & display options. Though could be an issue with the monitor. I have not seen anything about the series X pushing out anything higher than 120hz.

The series X maxes out at 120fps (120Hz).

You don't need an adapter, you just need to make sure you have an HDMI cable that supports those specs. I think it's HDMI 2.1. I assume that's what came with the console though. I don't see why they'd provide an older cable.

Also it's worth pointing out that not many games will reach 120fps. Some of the current ones do, but that's because they're mostly last-gen games with an update patch. As they improve the graphics more with the true next-gen games, those frame rates are going to decline though. Once they've got games using ray-tracing to its full extent, the best-looking games are very likely going to just be 30fps again.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.
