Searched for threads for "photomode" and "photography" and found none, so I thought of starting one up. With the huge uptake of photomodes in videogames - especially for the Playstation - I thought of creating a topic solely for ingame photography.
Personally, I only delved in photomodes during the frequent lockdowns from covid-19 over the past two years. I did an extensive set of photos taken within Horizon Zero Dawn's excellent photomode. I like photography as a hobby, so photomodes provided within videogames are a Godsend. I dump all photos onto Flickr and my link is https://www.flickr.com/photos/193169931@N05/
Is there anyone here into photography and ingame photography? What do you all think of photomodes?
@SingleStooge ^ that's the thread used for photo mode screenshots! This version of it over on the Push Square forums has way more entries so might be worth checking that out too...
I occasionally post in both. I really got into the photo mode in Mass Effect and posted some shots in both the PS screen shot thread and the PX game club thread
I got a few more from Mass Effect to put up too which I'll put in the Mass Effect thread and one from Forza Horizon 2 which I'll put in the Forza thread when I get around to it.
A nice chap over on PushSquare called RogerRoger also runs an annual screenshot competition toward the end of the year that you might want to take part in. This year is going to be multiplatform so can post Xbox shots, they just need to be taken in 2022. It's all for fun though
@ralphdibny I did notice the 'awesome screenshot' thread, but I considered that as not the same as doing "actual" photos such as portrait, landscape, filmnoir, documentary, etc. as people could take within the videogame's photomode. I could be totally mistaken.
Anyway, Flickr has a ton of people who take pics within videogame photomode. Just searching under game titles, would get hundreds or thousands of results.
As for Xbox-exclusive games, I think Halo Infinite would benefit from having a photomode, as I don't think it has one. Elden Ring on consoles would be another, as there is a mod for PC users, and they produce awesome photos.
