Talking Point: Would You Buy A New Version Of The Simpsons: Hit & Run For Xbox Series X|S?

For years and years at this point, it's felt like The Simpsons: Hit & Run has been primed for a remake or remaster on modern consoles, but whatever reason it's never happened - although it finally seems more likely than ever.

As you may have seen, Simpsons creator Matt Groening hit the headlines over the weekend by suggesting that he thought "the original game is coming back in some form", before showrunner Matt Selman humourously cut him off.

We mentioned the other day that Disney has been leading the requests for new Xbox backwards compatibility titles, and The Simpsons: Hit & Run is top of that list over on the Xbox Game Preservation website.

And we've talked about this before at Pure Xbox - you literally told us all the way back in 2021 that you unanimously (aside from 2% who had never played it) wanted to see the game added to the backwards compatibility program.

There's a big difference between a freebie via backwards compatibility and an actual paid release though, so we reckon it's time to run this poll over again (we kinda did it last year, but not as part of its own dedicated article). Assuming The Simpsons: Hit & Run might finally be in the works for Xbox Series X and S in either remake or remaster form, would you be up for buying it?

Obviously a bunch of factors go into this, so feel free to elaborate in the comments below, but give us your initial verdict in the poll as well. Personally, I think a new release of Hit & Run could be one of the best-selling titles of the generation!
