Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (December 3-4)

Welcome to the first weekend of December 2022! We've been spoilt for choice in terms of new additions on Xbox this week once again, including a bunch of new Xbox Game Pass titles, three more Free Play Days games, lots of major new releases including The Callisto Protocol, and more deals on the Xbox Store as always!

Here's what we're playing this weekend:

It's been a busy week for games, huh? I'm definitely interested in trying out the likes of The Callisto Protocol and Marvel's Midnight Suns in the near future, but for now the only major new release of the week that I'll be playing is Need for Speed Unbound (with the free 10-hour Xbox Game Pass trial), and it seems great so far!

In terms of Xbox Game Pass, I might finally return to my all-time favourite series in Telltale Games' The Walking Dead, with The Final Season now available to subscribers. If you've played all the other Walking Dead games (ideally, you really need to first), then you definitely don't want to miss out on this - it's a very worthy conclusion in my opinion.

Have a great weekend, folks!

Hello. This weekend I'm hopefully gonna be getting stuck into Marvel's Midnight Suns and Need for Speed Unbound - as well as watching far too much football as we enter the knockout stages of the World Cup.

Coming off the back of my disappointment with The Callisto Protocol, a game I've personally had at the top of my most wanted list since it was announced, I'm hoping Firaxis can deliver the goods with their superhero tactics title, and from what I've gleaned from the reviews out there so far, it seems there's little to worry about. Will this dev studio ever make a bad game? It doesn't seem likely.

I've already used up my ten-hour trial of Need for Speed Unbound too, and I'm really impressed with it so far, the racing feels tight and competitive and it's a just a really nice game to dip into and clear a few calendar dates in the campaign with some action-packed street racing and drifting. The story hasn't really been my cup of tea so far, but who cares when the actual gameplay looks, sounds and feels this great?

Now, how do I get my son off Roblox so I can actually get playing any of this stuff?

Have a nice weekend!
