It was just over a week ago that we brought you our top picks from the first batch of early August 2026 sales on the Xbox Store, but we've had a lot of new additions since then, so it's time to round up the mid-August sales as well!
Specifically, we've noticed three new promotions going live on Xbox in recent days, and those are centred around Bundles, more ID@Xbox discounts, and an Action-RPG sale that's only for Xbox Game Pass members.
Here are the end dates for these three new Xbox sales:
- Game Pass Action RPG (ends August 17th)
- Bundles (ends August 19th)
- ID@Xbox Publisher Spotlight Series (ends August 26th)
Naturally, we've been having a look through the list in recent days to find some of the deals that particularly stand out to us, and we've found some great ones for the likes of Black Myth: Wukong, Batman: Arkham Asylum, RoboCop: Rogue City and so much more!
It's also worth keeping mind that some of the early month deals are still live, such as the massive discounts for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint. We're not going to repeat ourselves by mentioning those again this week, but rest assured they're still live for a little while longer yet.
So, we've picked out over 15 titles that we think you should consider for your console in the new mid-August sales, and you can check the full selection by heading to the "Deals" section of the Microsoft Store app on your Xbox system.

Batman: Return to Arkham, Steelrising, A Plague Tale Bundle, Middle-Earth: The Shadow Bundle, and The Surge 1 & 2 (Dual Pack) are all superb games. Special shout-out goes to Steelrising, which I absolutely loved...
I am right in thinking that all the games found in each of these sales can be found under one mammoth sale, aren't I, @FraserG? There is usually one sale that has the most games for sale, and I always assumed that covered ALL games currently on sale, however, I have always wondered whether that was not actually the case, and that you need to view the other sales (Game Pass Action RPG , for example) individually...
Steelrising is currently one of the free games given away from Amazon Luna/Prime. (At least for US, I guess)
@Fiendish-Beaver It's getting very confusing these days. They used to release a series of sales every Tuesday, but now they're scattering them throughout the week.
The "Deals" section of the Microsoft Store on an Xbox console is the only place to find each category (like the Game Pass Action RPG one), whereas the Xbox "Sales and Specials" page on the Xbox website just has a list all the latest digital sales.

However, just to confuse things a little more, they have a separate "Deals with Game Pass" section at the bottom of that page containing a few Game Pass-specific discounts that go live every Tuesday.
In other words, all of this stuff is harder than ever to track. XBDeals and DekuDeals are also two good websites for monitoring the latest Xbox deals, but Deku doesn't show anything that's Game Pass-specific.

Still none the wiser then! 😂 It's kind of frustrating because when it can take an hour to trawl through the biggest sale offers, the idea of then trawling trough a number of smaller ones (which may or may not have been entirely covered in the big one) is most unappealing. Have to say that is why I try to add all the games I am most interested in to my wishlist because at least that way I am mostly covered, but of course even though you do a great job here of highlighting the games when they first come to Xbox, there are always going to be some that you miss, and also some games that may not seem appealing in one of your articles, but later become of interest. It's all a bit of a mess, to be honest (not what you guys do, but how the Xbox Store operates)...
@Fiendish-Beaver Yeah, I agree! The wishlist system is certainly more important than ever for Xbox discounts.
All of this is without mentioning categories like "Just For You" that are hidden away on the store as well. You really have to do some detective work to find all the deals
Id recommend the RoboCop game then two games I absolutely love and Helldivers 2 is really really good!

Did you play Helldivers 2 solo, @Mr-Cage, or as part of a team? How similar is it to Siege, because I have seen a number of people likening the two.
The game did interest me, but I was never happy that playing it solo was going to work because my understanding is that the higher level gear is locked behind co-operative parts of the game. Also, I think it might have an extraction element, and the idea of being robbed of my booty is not my idea of fun...
@Fiendish-Beaver You could play it solo yes definitely on the lower levels but the game is really built to play with others the community is mostly great and rewards get shared evenly no matter what happens in a mission.
It's really fun tbh I'd say check out some gameplay too see if your into it.
It has similarities to the new siege mode but in my opinion it's very much more refined and enjoyable than siege mode with stratagems and lots more weapons.
@Fiendish-Beaver Also there isn't really higher levels even from the start you are extremely powerful.
Some of the best weapons are in warbonds though which you buy with super credits which can be farmed very easily or bought and then you unlock that gear for use with war medals you receive from completing missions.
You can also upgrade your starship in the game.
Everything taken or earned from missions is shared equally at the end of each mission so there's no competition between player's in games everything is geared to jolly cooperation like solaire would say hahaha

@FraserG Yap! I'm making heavy use of my wishlist. Especially for older games that don't get much space to shine anymore.
@Fiendish-Beaver Not really you get thrown into a map probably about as big as the siege map big you can move a lot faster and the games are quick the longest would go around 30/40 minutes but they could go overtime for a while you can only get it done in a set time and stratagems go after the expected mission time ends.
It's crazy fun though when it goes mad!
You can call in air strikes, turrets, heavy weapons even mech suits.
There's Also three different enemy types with there own set of classes there's a good bit too it if you could get some of your gears group to try it out you guys could really enjoy it I think especially as a team already yourselves.
Definitely worth a research anyway I think of what the game is like to play.
I don’t like Return to Arkham. It might look a bit nicer but I played Arkham Asylum on PC when they removed Games for Windows Live and City on a highest Possible spec 2019 27” iMac. Both played significantly better. Don’t know why they didn’t use whoever did the Mac port for this version.

Robocop was surprisingly really good when I played it last year. It seemed 'clunky' at times (which actually makes sense lol) but the other elements of the game made it a binge worthy lower tier title.
Gonna have to be the one to warn others that Black Myth Wukong isn't a good game, very slow for an action game. Doesn't feel good to strike/hit anything.
I really wanted to like it but alas there should have been a real demo and/or disc release on Xbox. I got lucky waited a real long time and tried it on PS5 Pro via Gamefly. Couldn't make it past 4 hours. Looked horrid on performance mode and neither the other modes are good enough to play with it's bad input latency. I know some like it but it's a very polarizing one.
