The BC List: Issue 6 - The Calm Before the Storm Edition

Clear the decks...

Maybe you missed a game being added to Xbox One's backward compatibility service? Maybe a title has been added that you were always meaning to check out and can now do so cheaply? Well, The BC List is for you. Every week or two (depending on if there's anything new) we'll run down the latest Xbox 360 titles that have are newly playable via Xbox One backward compatiblity, complete with trailer or other video, game ratings, and the publisher's description, so you don't miss a trick.

So without further ado, here are the seven games that have been added since the last issue and that are playable NOW on Xbox One...

Aqua

  • Developer/Publisher: Games Distillery/Microsoft Game Studios
  • Original Launch: May 2010
  • Digital only
  • Metacritic: 61/100

Follow the story of captain Benjamin Grey and his trusted fellow engineer Polly Edison in Aqua, as they struggle to save the Aqua world from a treacherous conspiracy, pulling the strings behind a massive conflict of two rival naval empires. In this stylish naval action shooter with tactical elements, you must steer your ship into the middle of a raging naval war, where masses of enemies and allies engage in real-time operations over large, multi-screen maps, presented in a unique distinctive steampunk art style. Destroy enemies on, above, and below the water surface, and unlock new ship types, weapons, and upgrades to enhance your ship as you progress through an entertaining story-driven campaign accompanied by beautiful hand-drawn comic sequences. Choose your tactics and form your own special squadron to support you in battle, issuing offensive and defensive orders to overcome the enemy and their defensive installations.

Anomaly: Warzone Earth

  • Developer/Publisher: 11 bit/Headup Games
  • Original Launch: April 2012
  • Digital only
  • Metacritic: 79/100

Blending fast-paced, explosive action with tactical battlefield command, Anomaly puts players in charge of a military convoy tasked with fighting back against the mysterious alien war machines that have begun to spring up in many of the world's largest cities. Players take part in battles personally to support and assist a hand-picked armor squad, utilizing their top-down tactical view to plot each and every turn of the convoy. As they progress through the story campaign and challenge modes, players will unlock upgrades and new units to build their ultimate destruction squad.

Foul Play

Play as the daemon hunter Baron Dashforth in a side-scrolling brawler set ENTIRELY on a theater stage. Perform shattering takedowns and reversals. Electrify spectators with linked attacks, have a friend join as sidekick Scampwick and use every stage-trick you know to bring the house down. Play out the most spectacular moments of the Baron's life; improbable beasts, astonishing villainy and, at the heart of it all, the mysterious Foul Play.

Lazy Raiders

  • Developer/Publisher: Sarbakan/Microsoft Game Studios
  • Original Launch: February 2010
  • Digital only
  • Metacritic: 80/100

Dr. Diggabone's getting too old for archaeological digs, or so he says. Truth be told, he's just plain lazy... That's where you jump into Lazy Raiders and take control as you spin and flip mazes to send the Doctor or your Avatar on a gravity-defying quest for lost relics that would bring him instant fortune and glory. Of course you'll have to deal with greedy thieves, pesky minions, and ingenious traps along the way. If there weren't any challenges, you'd just grow lazy ... and we wouldn't want that, would we?

Monopoly Plus

  • Developer/Publisher: Ubisoft
  • Original Launch: January 2015
  • Digital only - Available in Xbox One version also
  • Metacritic: No Score

Its MONOPOLY for a new era! Play the classic game and watch the board come to life! A full 3D city at the center of the board lives and evolves as you play. You own a miniature world that will interact with your progression throughout the game and celebrate your achievements. Sega Bass Fishing

  • Developer/Publisher: Sega
  • Original Launch: December 1997 (Arcade)
  • Xbox 360 Launch: November 2011
  • Digital only.
  • Note: Retail version in the Dreamcast Collection pack does not currently work.
  • Metacritic: 57/100

Cost-conscious outdoorsmen, can look forward to some intense living-room angling with the re-mastered release of SEGA Bass Fishing. Players may choose from fourteen lures and will need to keep a close eye on the weather conditions at eight unique fishing spots if they want to reel in the big catches!

XCOM Enemy Within

  • Developer/Publisher: Firaxis Games/2K Game
  • Original Launch: November 2013
  • Digital and Retail
  • Metacritic: 88/100

XCOM: Enemy Within is the expansion to the 2012 Game of the Year award-winning strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Enemy Within adds an array of new abilities, upgrades and weapons to combat new enemy and alien threats. This expansion pack also introduces new maps, new tactical and strategic gameplay, and new multiplayer content providing a fresh new gameplay experience
