Warframe Set To Hit Xbox One In Early September

Posted by Ken Barnes

F2P on 2/9. Or 9/2 in the US. But not P2F.

The F2P action title Warframe will launch on Xbox One on September 2nd, it was confirmed today.

The Digital Extremes-developed title has been available on PC and PS4 for a while, but finally makes the jump to Microsoft's current-gen platform in a couple of weeks. The game is set in a distant future where the solar system is split between factions of zombies, clones, merchants, and warriors. Players take on the role of a "Tenno" from the warrior faction, who are masters of the Warframe armour. Warframe is primarily a shooter, but you'll find a bit of parkour in there as well for good measure.

Warframe hits the Xbox One for the lovely price of free, on September 2nd. In true F2P style though, upgrades and the like will be available for a fee.

@EternalDragonX I've played Warframe, and if any game does F2P right, Warframe is that game. Every item in the game is available through extensive playing and farming, the only thing microtransactions are used for in game is for quicker access to said items. It's not like other F2P games where microtransactions are utilized to get the upper hand on everyone else in the game. It IS a CO-OP TPS, after all. Don't be so quick to judge a game based on the negative stereotypes set by games that use the same business model.

I actually enjoy the game and would recommend people try it but the timing is kind of horrendous. Just one week ahead of Destiny?
