Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris Slated For December 9th

4 player couch co-op lives on

Square Enix has revealed to IGN that Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris — the isometric, dungeon-crawling spin-off — will be launching on December 9th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

This follow-up to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will bring 4 player couch cooperative play to the popular franchise for the first time. Players can choose from either Lara Croft or treasure hunter rival, Carter Bell. Accompanying them will be Horus and Isis, two Egyptian gods, on an epic adventure only Tomb Raider can achieve.

Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris was announced at E3 last month but was mostly overshadowed by Rise of the Tomb Raider, the sequel to the 2013 reboot. This should make for a fun and interesting stop gap before we get to experience that adventure sometime in 2015.

So, what kind of game is this? I never heard of its predecessor. Is it a single player game too? And does anyone know if it's a full retail release or a downloadable game?
