Assassin's Creed Liberation HD to Launch in January on XBLA

Posted by Ken Barnes

Digital title gets dated. Nearly.

Ubisoft has confirmed that their HD remake of Assassin's Creed Liberation will go on sale in January for the Xbox 360, via Xbox Live Arcade.

The game - originally a PS Vita exclusive - features the first playable female Assassin, Aveline, and tasks the player with hunting down and eliminating enemies in all manner of locations, from the streets of New Orleans, to swamps and ancient Mayan ruins. The new title has been completely remastered, and will feature new content and missions that delve deeper into Aveline's story. The game's world design has been updated to provide "more gameplay options during missions", too.

Assassin's Creed Liberation HD will cost £15.99 on Xbox 360 when it launches, but for a limited time after launch, if you've activated or purchased an Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag season pass, you'll get 25% off the purchase price.

Totally skipped out on Liberation when it came out last year but with this HD remaster looking 10x better, I'm glad I waited.

I hope at some point this gets released on the PS4 and X1, no reason it shouldn't be.
