Reviving Live?

During EA's 2014 fiscal year (April 1st, 2013 through to March 31st, 2014), the company will release 11 new titles for console and PC platforms.

As part of their annual fiscal report call, Frank Gibeau - President, EA Labels - confirmed the likes of Battlefield 4, Madden 25, FIFA 14, NHL 14, and the recently announced The Sims 4 (which is PC-only at this point), but also mentioned that the NBA Live franchise would be getting a new title, and that a new game is unsurprisingly due that will feature the Need for Speed moniker.

Some very juicy details about EA's next-generation launch lineup also slipped, as Gibeau all but confirmed five titles:-

Regarding next generation consoles, we are under a non-disclosure agreement with our platform partners. However, we’re planning a full reveal at E3 including more next-generation titles in development for fiscal year 2014. This will include breakthroughs in graphics and gameplay for some of our biggest franchises including Battlefield, FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, and Need for Speed.

That's about as close as you'll get to "FIFA, Battlefield, Madden, NBA Live, and Need for Speed will be released on Xbox 720 this year" as it stands.

We'll await full confirmation, but as Mr. Gibeau stated, more information will be coming at E3 for all of these titles.

EA has said NBA games are coming back from them one too many times and it always falls through.

I don't even know why they would bother with Live. It was ok years and years ago but ever since the 2K brand has been around it's destroyed Live every year. I'd rather EA focus on making Madden good again.
