Durango XDK "Leak" Makes Bold Claims

Always connected, Kinect required
VGLeaks has posted some details and screenshots that are apparently from the Durango XDK (Xbox Development Kit) that allegedly confirm a few details about the next generation Xbox.
The images - which aren't entirely convincing and could have been created in single-digit levels of minutes using Visual Studio 2012 - reportedly confirm that the new console will require a constant connection to the internet, something that will ensure that there's "no waiting for the console to restart or install updates." The console will also not function without the new Kinect 2.0 sensor being plugged in, the story goes.
In addition, a Blu-ray drive will be built in, but the device will not read the discs once games have been installed to the drive - giving rise to speculation about preventing used games from being run on the machine. All discs will have to be installed, allegedly, and playing from the disc itself will not be supported. However, playing the game while it is installing is an option that is available.
Given that the Xbox 360 Arcade and 4GB HDD models were incredibly decent sellers, we find it somewhat unlikely that every Xbox 720 will ship with a massive hard drive that will support the installation of tons of games, and that there will be no way of playing a game from disc.
As you can probably tell, we're somewhat skeptical about this latest leak, but wih Microsoft set to show off their new machine in a month or so (again, apparently), we'll have all the details as they're confirmed.
