Forza 4 Racing to Autumn 2011 Release with Kinect Features

Will support pad too

Don't worry dedicated race fans: Forza Motorsport 4 won't completely do away with traditional pad controls in favour of Kinect, as both controllers will be featured when the game launches in Autumn 2011.

Although Microsoft and Turn 10 are keeping very quiet about what kinds of features Kinect will bring to the table, a spokesperson commented on the game's E3 showing:

We showcased a Kinect-enabled project from Turn 10 Studios at E3 2010, which let players explore and experience their dream cars like never before. That tech demo demonstrated some of the experiences possible with Kinect and Forza.

The E3 demo in question showed an overtaking challenge controlled by Kinect that saw the player score points for driving skill, something you'd expect more from Crazy Taxi than a core series like Forza, but the head-tracking on display also allows you to look around the car or into corners.

Kinect won't just offer steering either, as you can see in the video of the game's E3 showing below.

That's actually pretty good (will have to see it for myself to believe it though), and still giving the hardcore gamers the ability to use the control pad if they don't want to use kinect was very important. Day 1 purchase for me. Goodbye Grand Turismo 5, you tried and failed miserably.

What i would like to know is, How you going to make this fair if for instance there is online play? If some one is using the kinect someone using a pad or someone using a steering wheel combo? As to me it looks as though when using the kinect it auto accelerates and brakes for you which seems to take away the skill element do you not think?
