In most cases, if a developer adds a 60FPS mode to any game on any console, they make a big song and dance about it. With 007 First Light though, a 60FPS mode has been very quietly pushed out to Xbox Series S in recent days.

There was a reference about this in the patch notes for the big free DLC update last week, but it was worded incorrectly and said that the Series X version had added a 60FPS update, so nobody seemed to take notice of it.

So, how does the new 60FPS mode fare on Xbox Series S? The answer is relatively well, but certainly with some visual drawbacks. The graphical settings look pretty low if you choose to play on "Performance", while the frame rate seems to hover around 50-60FPS for the most part, so you'll ideally want to use a VRR-supported display.

At the end of the day though, it's just nice to know that you can now choose between "Quality" and "Performance" modes on the Series S, perhaps helping to entice a few more purchases in the process!
