We've got another new Forza Horizon 6 update! The latest one arrived last night (June 18th), and it's a hotfix that's intended to address two major exploits that Playground Games clearly isn't happy about.
The first of these exploits was mentioned in our previous FH6 update article here at Pure Xbox, relating to a glitch with The Eliminator that saw players receiving hundreds of millions of credits for playing just one game of it. Anyone who did this has been pushed back to 10 million credits, The Eliminator has been fixed and rolled back out, and all players are getting a 2021 McLaren Sabre as a goodwill gesture.
"Fixed an issue where players could earn an unintended amount of Credits through an exploit used in The Eliminator. This hotfix also restores access to The Eliminator in Horizon Play, with all players receiving a 2021 McLaren Sabre as a gesture of good will for the inconvenience of disabling this feature."
The second exploit relates to the Auto Drive feature in Forza Horizon 6, which allows the game to take over the responsibility of driving your car for you. Some people have evidently been using this to farm millions of credits, and Playground Games says this was never the intention and it's only intended to be an accessibility feature.
As a result, they've reduced the rewards for some game modes to prevent Auto Drive exploits.
"Related to the Credits Exploit we have rebalanced the Rewards available in some game modes to prevent these from being exploited using Auto Drive. Auto Drive is meant to be used as an accessibility feature, or for when your hands need a break from driving. It is not intended to be used as a way to earn credits without actively playing the game."
Those are the two big fixes in this latest update, then, although it's also mentioned at the bottom of the patch notes that they're still trying to fix issues with lost saves on Xbox and PC. A system update was recently pushed out on Xbox consoles to address this, but it clearly hasn't solved the problem entirely.
