If you were a fan of NBA Street back in the original Xbox era, you'll want to keep your eye on an upcoming game known as NBA The Run, which is landing on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on June 9th, 2026.

The game clearly takes inspiration from NBA Street, and its creative director even worked on all four games in EA's series back in the day, so we have high hopes here! NBA The Run is a primarily online-based 3v3 street basketball game complete with Solos and Squads modes, fast gameplay, rollback netcode and online crossplay.

For those wondering, there is also a single-player component here, but it's seemingly not the main focus:

If you're interested, NBA The Run will soon be available to purchase on Xbox at a price of $29.99, with a special Deluxe Edition also available for $39.99 featuring three rookie variants and some in-game bonuses.

We'll be keeping a close eye on this one to see how it fares with the critics, and here's hoping it'll scratch that NBA Street itch for the modern generation. In any case, it's great to see a fresh new studio making arcade sports games!
