Bethesda Sets Release Date For Massive Fallout 4 'Creations' Update On Xbox Consoles

If you're a fan of playing Fallout 4 on Xbox consoles, you're probably aware that the storage limit for Creations — modded content that you can add to your game — has always been extremely low on Xbox One, Series X and Series S.

That's all about to change with a massive update on May 27th though, as Bethesda has confirmed that Creations storage will jump from 2GB to a whopping 100GB (!) on Xbox Series X and S on that date, allowing for not only more space to download extra content, but also for "larger, more ambitious creations" on Xbox consoles.

The official statement also mentions smaller increases for Xbox One, PS4 and PS5:

"We're excited to share the Fallout 4 Creations storage expansion will arrive for consoles on May 27th. Console players will soon have more space to download content, including larger, more ambitious creations."

"This update will allow for Creations storage on Xbox Series X and S to be scalable up to 100GB. PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox One will all have Creations storage increased from 1GB or 2GB respectively, to approximately 15GB."

Before we get to May 27th, Bethesda is advising players to save their existing Creations load order on Xbox consoles (and other platforms), as the update will reset it by default. The company has put together a detailed FAQ on how to do this on the official Fallout website, so be sure to check that out if you're already using creations in your game.

You may still have a few questions here — and before you ask, we don't know why Xbox Series X and S are getting boosted to 100GB while the PS5 isn't! The other one that immediately comes to mind for us is whether Fallout: London could potentially be playable on Xbox consoles now, but we're not getting our hopes up. The developer of that mod wants to make it happen, but mentioned back in 2024 that they'd need Bethesda's help to make a standalone version for Xbox consoles specifically. Who knows, maybe we'll get it one day!
