Samson Dev Announces Console Release Window For 2026, Likely Including Xbox

There's been a lot of talk about Samson recently - the Steam game that racked up a ton of attention prior to its release, but then struggled to live up to the hype with "Mixed" reviews when it launched a week ago.

Nevertheless, the developer hasn't waited around to push out a significant 2026 roadmap, promising lots of improvements over the coming weeks in particular. They've now announced a Fall 2026 release window for the console version as well, which will likely include Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S.

Here's the roadmap, along with an official quote about the console release window:

"Finally, we know many of you have been asking about a console release. While we’re not ready to share a specific date yet, we can confirm that Samson is planned to launch on consoles this fall."

Samson Dev Announces Console Release Window For 2026, Likely Including Xbox 2

Despite the difficulties that Samson has run into at launch, we mentioned previously how we felt it could be an ideal scenario for Xbox fans - wait until it's been polished up a bit more, and then get a (hopefully) great version on console.

Whatever happens, we do anticipate there'll be some significant interest when Samson arrives on consoles later in 2026, and its potential to succeed on Xbox & PS5 (and maybe Switch 2) depends entirely on how it evolves over the coming months.
