As part of a "special showcase" to celebrate 10 years of Layers of Fear, developer Bloober Team has announced Layers of Fear 3 - with a request for fans to "stay tuned" for further information on the title.

Yep, this was a sort of 'tone piece' type trailer — with LOF3 seemingly being a while away from releasing just yet — but either way, the team has committed to more Layers of Fear despite higher profile releases like Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn coming out of the studio in recent years.

Although the announcement was light on details, an official website for the game does tell us that "some things never leave the walls. They only learn to wait" - which sounds very reminiscent of Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2 from the Polish horror experts.

It also shares a poem dubbed "The Sick Rose" by English poet William Blake:

"O Rose thou art sick.
The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:

Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy."

We'll have to wait and see what Bloober Team has in store with Layers of Fear 3, then, but clearly - the team is going for that weird and mysterious style the first two games were known for. Look out for this one on Xbox Series X|S sometime in the future!
