Some Xbox Users Were Surprised With Free Gift Cards Over The Weekend

Xbox has been giving out some free gift cards again! Various Xbox users were surprised with some extra credit over the weekend, and it all stems from a promotion that started back in December.

When the Xbox Countdown Sale began on December 18th, it was quietly revealed that buying EA Sports and/or 2K Sports titles would result in players receiving $5 Xbox gift cards along with some in-game credit.

Notifications were sent out this past weekend informing Xbox owners that they could redeem this credit, and you can see an example from my own personal Xbox account below:

Now, what's interesting is that I didn't buy any EA Sports or 2K Sports titles during the Xbox Countdown Sale, so either I got lucky and received an Xbox Gift Card anyway, or I was rewarded for being an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate member.

In any case, it's well worth checking your "Offers and Credits" section on Xbox to see if you've received anything. We'll leave some instructions on how to access this below, and let us know if you were successful in the comments!
