Indie FPS Mullet MadJack was one of the standout ID@Xbox releases of 2025 in a year that was absolutely full of amazing indie titles, and the developer behind the game is clearly ecstatic with how well it's done on the platform.
Speaking on social media, it was revealed that Mullet MadJack has now reached over 1.3 million downloads on Xbox to date, with many of those obviously having come from Xbox Game Pass considering it was a day one launch on that service (for those wondering, we don't have a breakdown of purchases vs. Game Pass downloads as things stand).
The dev says that this success "proves how vital consoles are for scaling independent games", and validates the game's quality as a whole. There are now plans to bring their other games to consoles as well.
"This milestone not only validates the strength of the project, but also proves how vital consoles are for scaling independent games. We’re working to bring our other titles to these platforms and keep putting Latin games on the global map."
We assume many people will point to the fact these are "downloads" rather than "sales", but it seems like developer Hammer95 is just extremely pleased with the discoverability that Xbox Game Pass and launching on Xbox consoles has afforded them. Keep in mind that Mullet MadJack is still an Xbox console exclusive as it stands, too.
If you fancy trying it for yourself, there's good reason to — Mullet MadJack has an "Overwhelmingly Positive" rating over on Steam, and the Metacritic score is a whopping 88 for PC and 86 for Xbox. It's included with the Ultimate, Premium and PC plans of Game Pass, or you can pick it up for the very reasonable price of just £15.99 / $15.99.
