One of this month's big releases that's slipping under the radar a little bit is Jurassic World Evolution 3, which was announced by Frontier Developments back in the summer. Yep, the team's dino-tastic park builder is available on Xbox today, which means we're just starting to see some early reviews trickle out for the Series X|S title.

We haven't had chance to get to this one here at Pure Xbox (busy month, as it turns out!), so we're just diving into these reviews ourselves to see what the deal is. Without further ado, here's what the critics are saying about Jurassic World Evolution 3 so far:

But Why Tho? (9.5/10)

"Jurassic World Evolution 3 is an astounding management sim and was released in a year with great games also coming out in the genre. The franchise it’s attached to is the cherry on top of what is both an approachable but deep game that always asks you to learn more, but in an accessible way. It’s hard to be both a great introductory game into management sims and also offer the die-hards a level of depth that doesn’t leave them wanting, but Jurassic World Evolution 3 does it perfectly."

DualShockers (9/10)

"Jurassic World Evolution 3 is without a doubt the absolute best dino park management game that has ever been made. Any of the issues or complaints I had from the first two games have either been improved on or completely eradicated. The campaign and challenge modes are worth checking out, but you'll find yourself absolutely absorbed by building and maintaining your park in the sandbox mode. It's a magnificent blend of nostalgia and contemporary game design, and is well worth dumping hours of your life into."

Push Square (8/10)

"Jurassic World Evolution 3 is exactly what it needs to be. There's new additions to the formula set by its predecessors that enhance the experience rather than detract from it, and it accentuates what the series did well before to new heights. Dinosaurs are the name of the game, and whether you're here to help create dino families or if you just want to see a giant lizard eating the clientele, this third instalment delivers."

IGN (8/10)

"Jurassic World Evolution 3 builds on an already impressive foundation to give aspiring dinosaur theme park managers more control than ever before. New features and quality-of-life updates make the third installment the pinnacle of the series, even if the Scenario mode doesn’t hold a candle to the previous game’s Chaos Theory. If building and maintaining a dinosaur theme park is your idea of a good time, Evolution 3 has plenty to offer."

TheGamer (8/10)

"Jurassic World Evolution 3 doesn’t reinvent the park-building formula, nor does it step leaps and bounds beyond the prior games, but it refines it in meaningful ways. It’s smarter, more visually polished, and management systems are both deep and flexible. Small rough edges, repetitive moments, and occasional AI frustrations keep it from perfection, but there’s a lot here to love, especially for management fans who enjoy tinkering with every system at their disposal."

GameGrin (7/10)

"If you want a game that lets you relive some of the animals you loved as a kid, while also not being hugely taxing, then Jurassic World Evolution 3 is perfect for that. It certainly offers the best experience if you have never played the other two games. However, if you have played the others, then you might find the additions a little lacking outside of the new building options and baby dinos."

GamesRadar (3.5/5)

"A strong park builder whose charm is generally enough to make you see past its issues. Jurassic World Evolution 3 could have been even better without the busywork and bugs, which hold it back just enough to stop it from being an instant classic."

At the time of writing, Jurassic World Evolution 3 has a Metacritic score of 81 and an Open Critic rating of 85 - so that's definitely a strong start for Frontier's dino-filled park builder, then. The game is out now on Xbox Series X|S, coming in at $59.99 / £49.99 on the platform.
