Following a relatively subdued marketing campaign so far, Hangar 13 is properly lifting the lid on Mafia: The Old Country today - starting with a full gameplay reveal and an official release date! You can get your hands on this new Mafia title on August 8th, 2025 - and we've thrown the brand-new trailer up above for you to enjoy.

Just like 2020's Mafia: Definitive Edition remake, The Old Country is sporting some lovely visuals here, this time placed in a more old-school rural setting. The remake's satisfying combat mechanics also seem to have made their way over - with some 2025 enhancements, of course.

"Engage in life-or-death combat, be it up close with a blade or from afar with a variety of firearms. To prove himself worthy in the Torrisi family, Enzo will have to master all the tools of the trade, including period-authentic handguns, rifles, and shotguns, to overcome any odds and doggedly eliminate the Don's enemies."

Driving is back too — a staple of the Mafia franchise — alongside what appears to be plenty of traversal on good old horseback, which will prove something of a different vibe than the more modern Mafia settings we've seen in recent times. Something else that's slightly different is that the team is opting for a linear experience this time around - one that's also priced at just $50.

If you want to see and hear a bit more about what Mafia: The Old Country is bringing the table - it might be worth checking out the team's upcoming PAX panel later today. Given that the game is only about three months away now, we'd expect the team to be dropping plenty of juicy details there on this upcoming third-person adventure for Xbox.
