Ahead of an upcoming network test hosted by FromSoftware, the Japanese developer has announced its release date for Elden Ring Nightreign. The multiplayer spin-off to 2022 mega-hit Elden Ring comes to Xbox on May 30th, with pre-orders now live for the upcoming title.

Nightreign is another cross-gen release from the team, meaning Xbox One and Series X|S players can get stuck into this experience in just a few short months. Here's how FromSoft describes its new Elden Ring adventure:

"ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN is a standalone adventure within the ELDEN RING universe, crafted to offer players a new gaming experience by reimagining the game’s core design."

Join forces with other players to take on the creeping night and the dangers within featuring 3-player co-op.

Take command of uniquely skilled heroes, each possessing their own abilities and distinct flair. While individually formidable, their skills create powerful synergies when they unite as a team.

Overcome a relentless environmental threat that sweeps through a land that changes between each game session and defeat the magnificent boss of that night!"

This latest extension to the Elden Ring saga follows on from last year's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which was just as well-loved as the main game itself. Nightreign is a standalone experience this time around though - meaning players don't need to own the base game to enjoy it.

Elden Ring Nightreign slashes its way onto Xbox consoles on May 30th, 2025.
