Hunt Showdown

Throughout the Xbox Series X|S generation there's been debate about whether games should still support the previous generation. With this in mind, developer Crytek has now confirmed it's dropping Xbox One support for Hunt: Showdown this August.

This decision is due to a "new era of Hunt" including a new map and performance improvements, as well as an upgrade for current-generation platforms. Here's what general manager David Fifield had to say about this update rolling out on 15th August 2024.

“After this is live and running natively on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, you will no longer be able to play at all on the older generations of consoles and will need to upgrade."

Fortunately, anyone impacted by this will be able to transfer across their player accounts and all DLCs to the new version "at no additional cost" when they're ready to make the transition to the current generation. As noted, this update applies to Sony's platforms as well, with support also ending on the PlayStation 4.

Hunt: Showdown originally arrived on the Xbox One back in 2019.
