We've got some interesting industry news to share today, as it's been revealed that the former "Franchise Narrative Director" on the Gears series, Bonnie Jean Mah, has joined Sony's Santa Monica Studio - again as a Narrative Director.
Bonnie revealed the news on Twitter last night, stating how "beyond thrilled" she was by the opportunity:
Originally starting at The Coalition (formerly known as Black Tusk Studios) back in 2012, Bonnie ended up contributing in a major way to multiple Gears games including Gears of War 4 and Gears 5, along with Gears Tactics. She also took a break from The Coalition in 2017-2019 to become the Narrative Lead on Age of Empires 4.
In recent years, Bonnie has been working for the TiMi Studio Group at Tencent on an unannounced open world RPG, but she's obviously now transitioning to Sony Santa Monica, where she'll seemingly be diving into the world of God of War.
