It's an exciting day for Bethesda fans with the arrival Starfield, but unfortunately, not everyone is here to see it.

One fan from the Starfield subreddit known as Alex Hay died of cancer earlier this year, and while the entire game's community was already prepared to pay respects, it seems Bethesda's actually inserted a special note in the game to remember this explorer. Here it is in full, courtesy of a screenshot by Reddit user 'HunterWorld':

Alex Hay's Note: "To all my friends and fellow explorers. I'm always with you, out there in the starfield. Love always. Alex Hay"

It's short but sweet, and Alex is now forever part of Starfield. And while it's not necessarily the first time we've seen something like this, it's always nice to see this tradition of companies paying respect to huge fans continue.

As for where you can find this note, the same Reddit user mentions how it can be found "on the eye, on the right when you enter" but honestly, right now, this might not make much sense considering the game has only just gone live! We'll update this story accordingly if we learn more.
