Dead Island 2

Dead Island 2 is almost ready to go after about a decade of development time, and ahead of next month's launch, the team has revealed how much gameplay players can expect to extract from the title.

In a new interview with Wccftech, Dambuster Studios' Adam Olsson mentioned that the upcoming zombie slasher is roughly 20 hours long - and that's with some of the game's side content factored in.

"I don't know exactly. I think we do have guidance stating that if you take part in some secondary missions and other activities, the whole experience is around 20 hours. That's what we have [...] but on top of that, we have the co-op mode, collectibles, and you could always replay Dead Island 2 with a new character if you feel like it."

This sounds like the ideal sort of length to us, and it'll hopefully prevent Dead Island 2's over-the-top nature from outstaying its welcome. 20 hours roaming around LA beating up zombies to our hearts' content? Bring it on!

In fact, we've already played roughly the first five of those hours and it's safe to say we had a very good time in 'HELL-A'. The full game launches on April 21st for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
