The Witcher 3 Dev Still Plans To Release Free Next-Gen Upgrade This Year

CD Projekt seems pretty busy these days huh? Alongside giving us plenty of news on Cyberpunk 2077 and its upcoming next-gen-only expansion, the team has dropped a little bit of an update on The Witcher 3 and its own next-gen upgrade.

In a new investor call looking at the dev's first half of 2022, the team has reaffirmed that its free Xbox Series X|S upgrade for The Witcher 3 is still on schedule to release in Q4 of this year. The company first drifted this new release window around back in May, shortly after the update's indefinite delay. Here's their new statement on TW3 next-gen:

In the fourth quarter of 2022 the Company also plans to release an updated edition of The Witcher 3, taking advantage of the capabilities of next-generation consoles.

With Cyberpunk 2077's sole expansion landing sometime in 2023, hopefully this native Xbox Series X and S update does indeed arrive this fall. We're quite looking forward to this next-gen slice of The Witcher goodness, because any news on The Witcher 4 is likely to be some years away yet.
