As part of the final Year One update for Aliens: Fireteam Elite, developer Cold Iron Studios is making quite a few changes and new additions. Remember, this co-op shooter is still available on Xbox Game Pass at the time of writing, so with this update closing out Year One, it might be a good time to give the game a shot! Anyway, here's what's coming in Aliens: Fireteam Elite Season 4.

First up, cross-play is coming to all available platforms, including Xbox, PlayStation and PC. This applies to all game modes within Fireteam Elite, which is welcome news, as matchmaking can be slow at times when restricted to just one platform.

If you're already pretty invested, the developer is also bringing a Prestige system to the game. This allows you to reset your rank to 1 once achieving the current max of 20, bringing new gear and rewards along with it. The new max rank after entering Prestige, once the update arrives, will be level 100.

A new game mode providing a fresh twist on Horde mode will also arrive with Season 4. 'Restock Turrets' tasks you with tackling Xenomorphs from all angles, while ensuring your lineup of turrets is fully stocked. You could take the four new weapons for a spin here, which include a new shotgun, energy weapon, sniper rifle and revolver for Aliens: Fireteam Elite.

This pretty substantial update arrives July 26th, just about a month ahead of the paid 'The Pathogen' expansion which is due out August 30th.
