Update: Fortunately there is now an official way to pre-install Sniper Elite 5 through Xbox Game Pass on console! All you need to do is head to the Xbox Game Pass app, search for Sniper Elite 5 in the "Coming Soon" section (or manually with the 'Y' button), and then select the "pre-install" option to begin the download.
You can also now pre-install via the official Xbox Game Pass app on Android and iOS, rather than following the workaround below. On the PC version of Game Pass, the game doesn't seem to have been updated to the full version yet, so you'll only be downloading a placeholder file for the time being.
As mentioned, you're looking at around an 80GB download on Xbox Series X, so it's worth starting now!
Original: Sniper Elite 5 is almost here, as Rebellion's latest series entry comes to Xbox Game Pass on day one. As of now, there's no official way to pre-install the game, but here's a nice little workaround that allows you install it right away!
The game is coming in at a whopping 80GB on Xbox Series X, so make sure you have the drive space to get this one installed. Once you do, you can head to the official Xbox mobile app and start the download!
Here's the step-by-step of how to do it:
- Load up the official 'Xbox' app on Android or iOS (not the Game Pass app)
- Hit the search icon at the bottom of the app
- Tap 'Games' and search for Sniper Elite 5
- On the game page, hit 'Download to Console'
Once you've completed these steps, the game should start downloading on your Xbox system of choice. However, if this is your first time using the Xbox app on mobile, you may be prompted to pair your console with it first.
If you then find you can't access the game on release day because you "don't own it", you may need to go back into the Microsoft Store and hit 'download' once again - your Xbox will then realise you've downloaded it for Game Pass, and it should immediately start working.
