Rhythm shooter Metal: Hellsinger sure looks a hell of a lot like DOOM (yeah, see what we did there) and let's face it, that's very high praise. The developer has showcased another 12 or so minutes of gameplay this week and to be honest, it looks a right blast.

The twist with this one is that it takes the metal music theming of DOOM and pushes things a step further, by introducing combos based on the flow of the music. And that music sounds fantastic, I mean, just listen to it!

DOOM-Like 'Metal: Hellsinger' Looks Frantic In New Gameplay Showcase

The likes of Lamb of God, System of a Down, Arch Enemy and more are lending vocals to the game's soundtrack, which to be honest, looks set to be the highlight of the whole game.

Having said that, the gameplay looks solid too and of course, heavily inspired by the last few DOOM games from id Software. Metal: Hellsinger is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S sometime in 2022, following a delay from last year.
