Resident Evil Village Game Pass

Update [Tue 29th Mar, 2022 01:30 BST]: Xbox has responded to the speculation about Resident Evil Village coming to Game Pass. Xbox's Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) provided an update on Twitter - noting how there are "no current plans" to bring this game to the service.

"This was an error with how a discount for the title was displayed in the Microsoft Store and has since been corrected. There are no current plans to bring Resident Evil Village to Game Pass"

Original Story [Mon 28th Mar, 2022 11:30 BST]: Could Resident Evil Village be about to hit Xbox Game Pass? Polish website XGP recently spotted that the Resident Evil Village store listing, in Poland at least, briefly saw an 'Xbox Game Pass' label attached. The tag has since been removed, but not before the site grabbed a screenshot.

At the time, Village was on sale at 50% off, with a little tag underneath the discount, saying that the game is included in Xbox Game Pass. Again, that tag has now been removed, so it could be a brief error. However, Resident Evil Village has been out for almost a year, so there's a chance it could hit the library after one year on the market.

XGP also spotted a similar tag appear for Mass Effect Legendary Edition last year, before the title hit Game Pass around six weeks later. If that very same scenario were to happen for Village, it'd hit around May 9th, a year and two days after Resident Evil Village launched in 2021.

For now, this is all speculation, but it could happen, given the tag's brief appearance on the Xbox store. Oh, and Resident Evil 7 has been in Xbox Game Pass for years now, so Capcom has a history of putting RE on Game Pass.
