WWE 2K22 was announced as heading to Xbox One, Series X and Series S on March 11th last month, and now following a series of carefully crafted trailers, we've been treated to some raw gameplay footage for the first time.

As you can see from the video above, the footage shows a 1v1 match between Rey Mysterio and Damien Priest, and the first thing you instantly notice is that the camera is different for 2K22, being zoomed in and placed lower down.

Additionally, the gameplay definitely looks like it has a different feel to it. Although many of the same animations appear to have been carried over from previous years, the "completely new animation system" means that the look and feel of characters - from traversal to how they interact during combat — is "greatly improved".

There's lots more footage to come from WWE 2K22 over the next few weeks prior to launch, and the game is also now available to pre-order over at the Microsoft Store — you'll find all the links (and an extra trailer) below:

WWE 2K22 is nearly here and it’s filled with stunning graphics, a redesigned gameplay engine, new controls, and more! From all-new game modes to unbelievable storylines, prepare for the next installment of the WWE 2K franchise.
