Assassins Creed Infinity

Update: Eurogamer has corroborated the original Bloomberg report, while also adding that it has heard of "early plans" for the game to include Baghdad as a location.

Original Story: Ubisoft is working to further expand Assassin's Creed with 'Infinity', its upcoming "evolving" project. However, a report has now surfaced, detailing a smaller-scale AC game intended to plug the gap before Infinity's release.

The slimmer Assassin's Creed title, codenamed 'Rift', was originally another Valhalla expansion, according to Bloomberg. Interestingly, the report also says Rift won't be a huge open-world role playing game like recent Assassin's Creed games.

Instead, the title will reportedly focus "more on stealth gameplay" which is likely music to the ears of old school AC fans. Anonymous Ubisoft employees disclosed the information with Bloomberg, and they say the game will star Valhalla character Basim.

Assassins Creed Rift

That's about all we know on the project so far. However, there is a projected release window, as Rift seems to exist because Infinity is taking some time to develop. Codename Rift will reportedly launch later this year, or in 2023.
