We've got some official details about plans for the Call of Duty franchise in 2022 courtesy of Activision, revealing that this year's game will be a sequel to Modern Warfare (2019) as previously reported earlier this year.
The game will be developed by Infinity Ward and feature a brand-new engine, while a new version of Warzone is also being created alongside it (also by Infinity Ward) — with both games being designed from the ground-up.
The only other details that have been revealed for now are to "expect a massive evolution of Battle Royale with all-new playspace and a new sandbox mode", so it sounds like it's going to be a pretty hectic year for the CoD franchise.

As long as the Single player story is long and amazing... Online portion should continue to be its own game and sold separately from the single player portion.
Sandbox mode? So a MMO style map which for a game like call of duty could be hell, imagine the best players grouping up picking off newbies... No thanks
Sounds like they're going to ruin the game once again by forcing the new warzone on people that buy mw2 🙃
@Kooky_Daisuke they're usually kind of fun but I got tired of them ages ago, since they're released annually. I haven't bought one since the OG MW2 but that entry was fun for a while.

How these develeopers can sit there year after year making the same game baffles me. OK Im sure their all comfortable. But how soul destroying... How many COD games do you need? I think I have four or five out of all of them, I havent played them all even. There all right for a blast around. But why do people just keep buying them year after year. I once bought a used PS3 of someone, it came with every COD game on that system and a couple of Battle fronts.. I thought here's a gamer that diversifies. I sold all but one of the COD's and recouped half the price of the price i paid.. Hey it was 60GB PS3 fat , the holy grail Boxed. But i thought whats with all the CODs

Sequel to MW 2019, No thank you. MW 2019 ruined the CoD franchise.
Why are they creating a sequel for Warzone? it makes no sense. instead of improving the current game witho those new modes. . is like if epic released fortnite 2 or rocket league 2. dumb decision.
