Just as we thought last year's various award shows were done, GDC comes along with one more. The Game Developers Conference takes place in March, and it has its very own awards show to boot.
The show contains the usual array of awards, including, of course, Game of the Year. There's some stiff competition here with the likes of Deathloop and It Takes Two, but Forza Horizon 5 gets a welcome, and much-deserved nomination.
Racing games have been known to get snubbed at award shows, especially when it comes to the full GOTY award. We'd argue the Forza Horizon series deserves a shout though, especially as it has such broad appeal for a racing game.
The full nominee list for the 2022 GDC Game of the Year consists of Forza Horizon 5, It Takes Two, Deathloop, Resident Evil Village and Inscryption. Forza Horizon 5 is also up for numerous other awards, including Best Visual Art, Best Technology, and Best Audio.
The winners will be announced at the GDCA ceremony on Wednesday, March 23rd, 2022.

Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Psychonauts 2 and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Four stellar Xbox Game Studios exclusives last year. All of them are game of the year material.
Fully Deserved and the best xbox exclusive last year by far.
Though I think resident evil will win which it also deserves to win, has to be out of those two games

I have some issues with the game. But the game deserves it.

Psychonauts 2, very good but not game of the year and definitely not over FH5.
@dmcc0 LOL You said it's on PlayStation, that's why I replied that it's not on PS5 but PS4 so you weren't right either. It's not on PlayStation, it's on PS4 😉. You already said that it's not an exclusive in your last comment.
@Dezzy70 yep no way halo should win still can't believe it got players choice at tga considering it hadn't even released except the half baked multiplayer in 'beta' form wouldnt mind if Forza won although my choice would be resident evil village
