Xbox Is In 'Positive' Discussions To Bring Final Fantasy 14 To Xbox

The popular MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV has still yet to make its way to Xbox despite releasing for PC and PlayStation systems many years ago, but its director has suggested talks are "positive" with Microsoft at the moment.

In an interview with Easy Allies, Naoki Yoshida explained that the discussions with Xbox are going in a "positive-like tone", and that he's "hoping that the timing will be very soon that I will have some kind of update to the players."

"I feel bad for saying the same thing every time, but we are still in discussions with Microsoft, and I feel like our discussions are going in a positive-like tone. I don't want to say we do not have an Xbox version, but I'm hoping that the timing will be very soon that I will have some kind of update to the players.

I'm sure there's a lot of things that people want to ask about on this subject, and there's a lot of things I want to share, but I'm afraid I'm unable to divulge on those details, so when the time comes... I'm sure the time will come, so if you could kindly stand by, that'd be great."

Back in February of this year, Yoshida suggested to VG247 that there were "no obstacles for developing the Xbox version", but the focus at the time was said to be on the game's Endwalker expansion and PlayStation 5 version.

Nevertheless, it sounds like an Xbox release isn't on the cards just yet. Fingers crossed we get one eventually!
