In a quiet announcement today, it's been confirmed that SNK's The King of Fighters XV will be heading to Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at launch, set to arrive on all supported platforms in the first quarter of 2022.
It had been speculated that The King of Fighters XV might skip Xbox after the previous game was exclusive to PlayStation 4 on console, but that obviously isn't the case. The only question that remains is whether it will make its way to Xbox One as well (there's a PS4 version in the works), but it doesn't look like it will right now.
Details are still pretty thin on the ground about The King of Fighters XV, but SNK did release a trailer for the game earlier this year (which you can watch above), along with a bunch of screenshots as highlighted by our sister site, Push Square.
Eager to pick up The King of Fighters XV when it arrives on Xbox in 2022? Let us know in the comments.

Could we possibly, hopefully, see another snk vs capcom? With upgraded graphics and improvements.
Good news. It's the wealth of weird and wonderful sub-AAA Japanese games that attract me to PlayStation. If Xbox can get more of these classically Japanese titles then I'd be happier to jump on board with a Series X.
Xbox is doing a great job with adding Japanese games: octopath traveler, the yakuza series, monkey ball, DB Fighterz, Samurai Shodown, King of Fighterz, the entire lost planet series (super throwback just bought them during the last sale), Dragon Quest XI, multiple final fantasy games, plus the backwards compatibility of Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey. Lots of old games worth revisiting for Xbox newcomers in Japan.
Yeah, whether you like fighters or not (I most certainly do!), this is a fantastic addition to the Xbox lineup 😁
@Royalblues always room for improvement! Not gonna say no to more games
