Bethesda's Ghostwire: Tokyo Delayed To 2022, Pushing Xbox Release Back Even Further

The development team at Tango Gameworks has announced today that their upcoming action-adventure game Ghostwire: Tokyo has been delayed to 2022, which means we probably won't see it on Xbox consoles until 2023.

The announcement was made on social media, where the team explained that the health of employees is paramount, and the delay "will give us the time to bring the world of Ghostwire to life as we've always envisioned it".

The reason we won't be seeing Ghostwire: Tokyo on Xbox consoles until even later than 2022 is because an exclusivity agreement was signed with PlayStation to make the game console exclusive for an entire year from release.

Xbox boss Phil Spencer has noted in the past how he plans to honour existing agreements that were made prior to Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda, but it remains to be seen whether this new development will change those plans.
