Ninja Theory has given us a few more crumbs of news for Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2. While it still sounds as though the game may be a (long) while off, it's one of the more substantial updates we've had in a while.
Chief creative ninja at Ninja Theory, Tameem Antoniades, opens the video explaining how development is going. Antoniades confirms the team is currently working on completing one giant chunk of the game before moving on to "full production" on the rest. But don't worry, Ninja Theory pulled through with some development footage to gorge on.

While there's no real gameplay, we get a look at some of the locations, character models, and overall tone the game is striving for. We also get a taste of some of the mo-cap work going on behind-the-scenes, which seems to have a higher emphasis on combat than before. Running on the latest Unreal Engine, we hold no doubt Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is going to be a visual stunner. It just might be a while before we see it on our Xboxes.

I have a feeling this game is 2023 or later.
Let’s have a poll! Release of Hellblade 2. Options : fall 2023, spring 2024, fall 2024.
Still waiting on Game Pass update. Weird Still nothing.
@Chaudy This game is coming to GP that is the law of the land.
@Senua @Chaudy means if more games will be added to Game Pass now but ten ZeniMax games were added four days ago.
@BlueOcean Yes true, but the GP Twitter account teased that there would be more news coming this week
@BlueOcean maybe (frasier, or w/e the mod's name is) was wrong. Couldn't believe it myself but would be happy with more.
@Spaceman-Spiff I missed that, thanks. Let's see what those news are then @Cherip-the-Ripper.
Eighteen months after announcement and they are working on a section of the game. Sounds like a four or five year dev cycle, hopefully the game is big enough to justify that amount of time.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Definitive Edition on Game Pass on 10 December 2021😁.
They previously said this is being built on Unreal Engine 5. That doesn't even release till 2022. They can bring some stuff in from UE4, but honestly this seems years out. 2023 earliest I think and very little we can glean from this.
Excited to see what they can do though. Hellblade is a game that sticks with you!
@BrilliantBill I get that, but I like it better as a great AA game with a small scale. I wonder if the extra time and money will make it that much better as opposed to us getting two or more games from them in a similar timespan.
@Bdbrady Xbox needs the AAA games. They are making a new-gen game with a new-gen engine. Then they can go for the expansion or sequel.
Everything about this has made me more excited than ever for this game. I don’t mind that it seems like it’s a while away, as long as it, at least, loved up to the original.
