Sorry Folks, Far Cry 6 Won't Have A Map Editor Or Arcade Mode

If you enjoyed Far Cry's map editing tools in previous games, unfortunately the team has confirmed that the mode won't be returning for Far Cry 6.

In a Reddit AMA, the team was asked whether the map editor would return, in which the response was confirmed to be no. The game's director Alexandre Letendre said that Arcade Mode - which replaced the map editor in Far Cry 5, but acted very similarly - will not be included, adding that it was a "difficult decision", but one that allowed them to focus on the main campaign.

No, Arcade will not come back. Removing this mode from our plan was a difficult decision, but allowed us to focus our efforts on the main campaign, transporting players into the heart of a modern-day guerrilla revolution.

The map editor has been a huge part of the experience since Far Cry 2, and has seen some crazy inventions over the years. Far Cry 5 even went as far as to incorporate it into its main multiplayer mode, allowing players to battle it out across fanmade stages. It's a shame it won't be returning, but if it makes for a stronger single player experience, then hopefully we;ll still be very happy with the result.
