We've been learning some more details about Redfall over the past few days - Bethesda and Arkane Studios' upcoming Xbox exclusive summer 2022 co-op shooter - courtesy of a couple of LinkedIn profiles.
The first is from a former tech artist at Arkane, whose profile acknowledges that he worked on R&D / Incubation, Modeling & Level architecture, prototyping environmental systems, visual scripting, and early lighting for Redfall from August of 2017 to May of 2018, suggesting the game has been in development for four years.
In addition, it looks like DOOM developer id Software has been helping out with Redfall, with the profile of an animator at the company recently highlighting they were currently working on "additional animation" for the project. The person in question has since removed any mention of Redfall from their LinkedIn profile.
The game will be an Xbox Series X and Series S exclusive when it arrives next year, and you'll be able to play solo or in co-op with up to four players to face off against a legion of vampires that have overtaken the once-quaint island town of Redfall. You can check out the reveal trailer above, but sadly we haven't seen any gameplay footage yet.
Is Redfall on your radar, or are you not impressed by what you've seen / heard so far? Tell us down below.

I'm pretty excited about Redfall and since it's gonna be on Game Pass day one I can just try it and if it isn't for me then it isn't.
Makes sense as it has a release date of Summer 2022. Gameplay can be shown later this year. Exciting times to be a Xbox fan.
4 years of development and not showing even a glimpse of gameplay at the showcase🤷🏻
Also it's interesting that the game has been in development for 4 years. It means devs intended the game to be multiplatform from the start and there should be PS5 build of the game lying around somewhere in one of Bethesda's datacenters.
So they had four years of development and no gameplay to show for it. I feel like cinematic trailers only work when it’s for a franchise that has been around long enough for the viewer to already have an idea on how the game is going to play or if they already have shown gameplay and want to try something different.
4 years and no gameplay?
This follows what I've always said:
No more, no less. How many times/videos do we need to be shown or need reminding, that a game we might be interested in, is coming.
I saw the ascent announcement trailer, piqued my interest. Saw the gameplay trailer, I was hooked. Now I'm just waiting on release, I don't need more videos to satiate my appetite, and whatnot.
@endlessleep Bethesda games are developed on PC first until the contracts are signed with individual platforms. Some people should just stop daydreaming only to get disappointed later.
4 years of development but couldn't provide any gameplay 🤔
Is redfall co op only or can you play single player
I can’t remember what was said about single player?
Sorry ignore me you can play solo.
So pleased to see big budget games moving to Vampires rather than treading the same old dull ground with Zombies.
Good vampire and werewolf games are still a very rare thing in video games even after all these decades. I hope that changes. Even Castlevania games which are generally good games don't actually have any real vampire aspects to the gameplay - they just happen to have the famous Dracula name even though the character doesn't really do much 'vampire-y'.
Anyway I'm looking forward to this.
@Senua lol chill bro. It's just one way to look at it since Bethesda is still independent at that time and the game started development without any sort of platform & studio partnership announced. Normally i would assume it's a multiplat game and aside of PC, devs have build of the game for each console or at least prepared to do so.
Can't wait for the next wave of PS fans making videos on how this might not be an MS exclusive haha
I concur with those who are questioning why a game in development for 4 years didn’t show any gameplay. Seems a little strange as you would think it’s pretty far along.
Interested to see what this game is all about..
Can we get a moratorium on one word titles with the "fall" suffix? That's all I ask.
@The_New_Butler I imagine by the time they put something out I’ll have forgotten about it so maybe they’ll pique my interest again.
I'm on the fence with this one.
The typical Arkane single player games have always be 9/10 experiences.
The fact this is 4 player co-op scares me that that 'magic' might be lost, but at the same time, I'm also excited to see them working out of their comfort zone.
Just a shame they couldn't show any gameplay or at least in-engine footage like Starfield.
I suspect Redfall is first half of next year maybe before E3 but still in June. We will probably get a gameplay trailer at the Game Awards because MS always brings something decent to the Game Awards.
So no one is gonna mention "you spin me right round" and "I'm floating in space!" being entries in this résumé? 😂
