The next instalment of The Dark Pictures Anthology was teased at the end of last year's spook filled Little Hope, but now we have a bit more of a tasty teaser trailer to digest. Not only that, but it comes with the confirmation we'll see a gameplay reveal on May 27.

While not much is shown, it gives us a good vibe for what House of Ashes is going for. We get a glimpse of what still suspiciously looks like Ashley Tisdale's character model, as well as seeing the perspective from a deadly monster stalking them. We're getting serious vibes of The Mummy, with a bit of Alien vs. Predator sprinkled in there. Although, we'll get a full feel for it next week.

Iraq, 2003. In the shadow of the Zagros mountains a military unit comes under fire from Iraqi forces. The resulting firefight causes an earth tremor where both sides fall into the ruins of a buried Sumerian temple. With all communication severed, our protagonists are trapped in a terrifying underworld they must navigate to escape, unaware that something ancient and evil has awakened in the shadows and has found a new prey to hunt.

The series seems to be getting better with each entry. We really enjoyed playing Little Hope over the Halloween period, and this looks to be right up that alley again. The first game, Man of Medan, is also part of Xbox Game Pass, so if you're on the fence, be sure to give it a try. We recommend it with friends, as it has some pretty fun multiplayer setups to take advantage of.
